Santo Domingo.-President Luis Abinader announced, for the third consecutive year, the distribution of two million credit cards Christmas bonus of RD$1,500, for a global amount of more than 3 billion destined for this initiative.
“This Christmas Bonus will positively impact the lives of 2 million families across the country. This will guarantee that at Christmas low-income families will have an economic contribution from the State with which they will be able to cover basic needs to enjoy these holidays as a family,” said the president during an act held at the Mauricio Báez Club, in the capital. .
When pondering the social scope of these government initiatives, the head of state indicated that it is intended that each Dominican family enjoy their Christmas holidays.
“We want to be close to the most humble families in our country so that they can enjoy parties without great deprivation and being able to take home what they need to enjoy with their loved ones,” Abinader said.

He emphasized that with the Christmas Bonus people will be able to buy in food establishments, stores, supermarkets and grocery stores throughout the national territory.
The president maintained that this social program seeks to humanize the execution of the Government’s social assistance and boost commercial exchange through thousands of medium and small businesses.
He said that this is a more inclusive mode of aid that has eliminated box delivery once and for all. “No more unworthy images that played with the despair of the people. We do not play with the people, we support the people, ”she raised.

The resource allocation formula that will be used again will be through a card issued by Banco de Reservas and Visa.
The beneficiaries will be able to activate the plastic by dialing the telephone number that appears on the plastic, following the instructions of the recorder. An identification number is required for greater transparency, thus guaranteeing the correct allocation of the economic contribution to those who truly need it.
SIUBEN and Supérate are the main ones in charge of the distribution of up to 80% of these cards and will be supported by the different churches and religious congregations.
