The president Luis Abinader This morning he led the start of the “Regional Meeting 2024, the modern challenges of politics, economy and society in Latin America” at the JJ Marriott hotel.
At the meeting they analyze «Democracy and governance in the 21st century; Economic integration and regional cooperation; Innovation and development.
Abinader said regional integration offers a powerful platform to address our social and economic inequities. Together, we can create a more robust market that benefits all countries in the region. The union of our economies will not only promote trade, but will enhance our investments in education, health and infrastructure, generating opportunities for our young people and ensuring a more promising future.
«It is also crucial that we look beyond our borders. Integration will allow us to present a unified voice on international issues. Our region has enormous potential in terms of natural resources, human talent and creativity. “If we work together we can become a relevant actor on the global stage, capable of influencing policies that benefit not only our countries, but the entire world.”
He also said that the importance of cooperation on security issues cannot be forgotten. Organized crime and drug trafficking are transnational challenges that require a coordinated response. Integration will allow us to share information, resources and best practices, thus strengthening the security of our people.
