Santiago. – The state of health of the mayor of Santiago and candidate for the presidency for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Abel Martínez, who was admitted this Monday to a health center in this city, to be treated for respiratory difficulties, is evolving satisfactorily because of pneumonia.
During a press conference led by Francisco Javier García, campaign manager of the presidential project, together with the member of the Political Committee, Robert de la Cruz, the doctors who treat the political leader indicated that his condition is stable and promising.
“We have spoken with our colleague Abel Martínez, and without a doubt he is in good hands with the attention and care that the Unión Medica has had,” said Javier García, while emphasizing that health is above all else.
“We will reschedule all the activities, in fact we already talked with him and we are doing it, and we also take the opportunity to send a message to the population, that all this is a regrowth and an increase in Covid cases, urge the population that they take the measures and that they try to take care of themselves”, added Francisco Javier García.
On his side, Dr. Esther Tavera, a pulmonologist who has treated Abel Martínez, explained that today Martínez is less exacerbated by his asthma, he has mild pneumonia due to Covid, but thank God he is vaccinated and protected, so the chances of seriousness are minimal.
