Abel Martinez says 70% of the PLD construction sector support his candidacy

Santo Domingo. – The candidate for the presidential nomination of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) Abel Martínez, received the support of more than 70 percent of the men and women who make up the different branches of the construction sector of the PLD, belonging to the Union Dignity Current Codiana and the movements Engineers, Builders and Contractors with Abel (ICABEL) and Builders with Abel, coordinated respectively by civil engineers Domingo Rosario J. and Danilo Féliz.

These platforms that are part of the powerful external sector and Strategy 5.0, express their unwavering commitment to work so that Abel Martínez is victorious in the consultation on October 16, where the PLD will define its candidate for the 2024 presidential elections.

At a press conference held in the city of Santo Domingo, representatives of the entire branch of engineering and independent construction workers, such as: independent engineers, master builders, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, rod drivers, truckers, cooks, salesmen, Hardware stores, manufacturers, among others, said that they feel identified with the actions of Abel Martínez, which is why they have decided to give him their massive support and add more votes for Abel in the PLD’s internal consultation.

The powerful Construction Sector with Abel assumes the responsibility of coordinating the work teams in all the provinces, municipalities and municipal districts, to multiply the votes that will give Abel Martínez a wide margin, first as a presidential candidate of the PLD and from there, continue adding from the external sector, until achieving a resounding victory in 2024, as president of all Dominicans.

Within the framework of the activity, the actors of the construction sector made a comparative exercise of the times of prosperity that the sector experienced, in the governments of the Dominican Liberation Party, highlighting significant achievements such as:

1. The implementation of raffles in all institutions, with amounts reaching up to RD$100 million, for engineers who did not have opportunities.

2. Throughout the national territory, construction of schools and nursery schools was carried out, which served for the execution of the school breakfast and the extended shifts.

3. Houses, local roads, streets, highways, ring roads, the cable car, the Santo Domingo metro, traffic distributors, hospitals, aqueducts were built, the installed energy capacity was increased with Punta Catalina, Wind Farm, there was a 24-hour circuit and Police detachments were also built throughout the country, among many other infrastructure works.

4. There was price stability in inputs, such as: cement that used to cost RD$250, now costs RD$500, for a 50% increase, aggregates with previous prices of RD$750 and currently cost RD$1,500 , for an increase of 50%, the bundle of steel with a previous value of RD$36,375, and now costs RD$83,000, for an increase of 43.8%.

They added that the increase in prices of supplies such as paint, which has skyrocketed by more than 80%, wood by more than 200%, zinc by more than 50%, among other materials, make it impossible for Dominicans to have access housing solutions at affordable prices.

They stressed that with the determination that defines the trajectory of Abel Martínez, it is possible, that as of 2024, progress, development, opportunities for national and foreign investment return, as an important basis for the generation of jobs, thus ensuring economic growth, but above all, asserting order, discipline and compliance with the laws.

In the act of support for the presidential aspirations of Abel Martínez, the past presidents of the College of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors (CODIA) were present: architect Francisco Mosquea, member of the Central Committee of the PLD; the electromechanical engineer, Domingo Mateo, undersecretary of Public Works of the PLD, electromechanical engineer Francisco Marte, deputy coordinator of Dignidad Codiana; engineer Tomás Frías Sosa, electoral manager of Dignidad Gremial and the agronomist Rosa Sánchez, as well as representations of the different branches of the construction of the 32 provinces of the country.
