District National.- The presidential candidate for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) Abel Martínez, held a meeting with more than 60 block coordinators from constituency #1 of the National District, belonging to the political structure of the member of the Political Committee and former candidate to mayor, Domingo Contreras.
Addressing those present, Contreras stated that “with Abel we are working to crown a historic triumph in the Dominican Republic, because it has the possibility of uniting and creating a confluence of social forces necessary to win in 2024.”
“We have summoned them to start the electoral work. We are going to consolidate all the blocks of the National District and convert sympathy towards Abel Martínez into votes. You have to go out to work, knock on the doors of all your colleagues because Abel must win with more than 70% on October 16,” said Contreras, who also assured that with Abel “we have a unique opportunity to build a candidacy that gives the country back its horizon and that we can implement social policies that make governability return.”
Ariel Gutiérrez, member of the Central Committee and designated coordinator of the Circ, also spoke at the meeting. #1, who declared that the PLD has to “know how to choose its best fighting rooster. Abel has 19 undefeated processes and in October it will not be the difference. Here is your army of men and women who are going to make you a candidate.”
On his side, Abel Martínez indicated that “today we not only seal the absolute domain of this project at the national level; today we also mark the beginning of the recovery of the plaza of the National District for the Dominican Liberation Partyfrom the hand of Domingo Contreras, a fully-fledged politician and a leader with a great team”.
“On October 16, the victory must be resounding so that we can build unity and harmony in an unbeatable way by 2024. The constant and permanent work has allowed us to build that route to victory that is now sealed with the work of all of you. . In this PLD project is the leadership that moves the votes with names and surnames,” said Abel Martínez, also stating that he feels happy to be the instrument of the purple party, “to get the PRM out of the National Palace for the good of the country.”
Also present at the meeting were the members of the Political Committee Rafael Hidalgo and Rubén Darío Cruz (Rubén Toyota), as well as a large representation of members of the CC, and leaders of the external sector who support the Abel 24 presidential project.
