Abdo is a candidate to “win Cartes again”

During a government session, Mario Abdo Benítez, President of the Republic, gave details of why he will run again for an elective position after leaving the Presidency of the Republic.

He affirmed that his goal is to “go back” to win over his political adversary Horacio Cartes, ahead of the upcoming elections on December 18.

“I wanted to retire after these difficult years, but when I saw that my opponent was running, because Horacio Cartes is my opponent, I entered the field to beat Horacio Cartes again. We already beat him, without being anything, when nobody believed in us. Today we are going to win with the same humility, that they bet on money because we are going to bet on the truth, on the heart of the people, on the dignity and freedom of the Colorado people who are going to go out and elect and we are going to recover that flag kidnapped by Chartism,” he said.
