Last Friday, the Guaraní Communicative Course closed, aimed at officials from the Ministry of Public Health, who were trained in the oral and written management of the Guaraní language.
A total of 40 officials who serve in the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS) were trained in the oral and written management of the Guaraní language, in order to provide an increasingly better service to citizens.
The participants of the course are public employees who are in the function of chiefs, in secretariats and in reception, as well as those who carry out direct attention with citizens from the different general and national directorates of both Senepa and Senasa.
Facilitators were Elisa Alicia Zaracho and María Victoria Palma, from the Linguistic Affairs Unit of the MSPBS, with Alicia Giménez and Carlos Ferreira, current president of the Academy of the Guaraní Language, as guests.
This course lasted 40 hours (50% face-to-face and 50% virtual), with a communicative Guarani approach, that is, where the participants acquire communicative skills in that language. Likewise, he addressed the Paraguayan linguistic framework and computer tools at the service of the Guarani language.
The main objectives of the course were to strengthen the development of the communicative competence in Guaraní of the permanent public servant, contracted and/or commissioned, in order to understand oral and written texts in this language, in addition to valuing the importance of learning the Guaraní language as work tool for effective communication with users of different health services.
