ABC of the new ‘pico y placa’ and transport rates in Bogotá

ABC of the new 'pico y placa' and transport rates in Bogotá

With the end of the Christmas and year-end holiday season, in addition to the return of thousands of travelers to their cities of work and study, Bogotá begins a series of changes this Tuesday, January 10, especially in mobility, for 2023.

(See: ‘Pico y placa’ in Bogotá: exceptions to the measure that will apply in 2023).

These measures range from increases in public transport fares, such as adjustments in the ‘pico y placa’.

As of Tuesday, the new methodology of this vehicle restriction will no longer apply to all even digits on even days and all odd digits on odd days.

(See: ‘Pico y placa’ in Bogotá will no longer rotate every 4 months: that’s how it will work).

As provided by the District Department of Mobility, Movement on even days will be restricted to vehicles with license plates ending in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and on odd days it will apply to license plates ending in 6, 7, 8, 9 and 0.

At the time it was said that the norm would change every 4 months, but that will no longer be the case: if any change is made, all you have to do is inform it 10 days in advance.

(For how many tickets will the transportation assistance reach in 2023?).

In addition to the changes in mobility, as of January 10, public transport fares are updated, both for the prices of the Integrated Public Transport System (SITP), taxi service, ‘pico y placa solidario’ and parking.

The ticket for the Transmilenio will be $2,950, while the SITP will go up to $2,750.

The differential rates, which have not been modified in the last three years, will also be adjusted, without affecting the benefits for the elderly and Sisbén beneficiaries.

Through the Card Your key The following benefits will be maintained:

– Transfers of $200 between zone and trunk buses in a window of 110 minutes from the moment of validation of the ticket.

– Up to 2 trips on credit when the card runs out of balance.

– Unified means of payment for Zonal and Trunk components, and TransMiCable.

– Recover the balance in case of loss of the card.

– Website recharge.

For its part, the ‘pico y placa solidario’ permit will also have its rates readjusted based on inflation.

(What you will have to pay in 2023 for parking in Bogotá).

The daily rate for traveling on peak and plate days will be $58,178. Meanwhile, the monthly permit will cost $464,974 and the semi-annual one will cost $2,325,095.

Remember that the District eliminated the shared car measure for 2023, which will no longer go as of this Tuesday, January 10.

Likewise, there will be increases in parking rates in private parking lots as well as street parking.

For the first case, the value per minute of each parking lot will continue to depend on the level of service (infrastructure and number of spaces) and the area (higher value in areas of high demand). Thus, the maximum value per minute goes from $122 to $139.

Car park or parking service providers, as a prerequisite for the collection of the new rates, must be in the District Parking Registry with updated information.

For his part, the maximum value for cars on street parking is $252 and for motorcycles $176.

(The ban on male barbecue in Bogotá will remain in force in 2023).

In the taxi service, the value of the unit every 100 meters will be $104, the flag and start $2,900, a surcharge to the airport of $5,200, a nighttime surcharge of $2,500, a minimum distance of $5,200 and a surcharge for door-to-door service of $900.

Motorcycle grill ban continues

The rule that prohibits the circulation of male grillers on motorcycles on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m., will also be maintained for 2023.

“We believe that the indicators show us that we must continue with this measure and for this reason we maintain it,” assured the mayor in charge Edna Bonilla.
