Tomorrow at 8:00 the parties were summoned by the sentencing judge Wilfrido Peralta to begin the oral and public trial for the director of the newspaper ABC Color, Natalia Zuccolillo, and her journalist Juan Carlos Lezcano, accused of defamation, in the framework of the complaint that in September 2019 was promoted by the former Deputy Minister of Taxation Marta González Ayala.
The beginning of this trial has already been suspended 18 times due to the different Chicanas that the defendants presented over three years, but tomorrow if they do not affect the process again, the trial must begin.
This case began in September 2019 when the journalist Lezcano published unsubstantiated information about the work carried out by Marta González when she was deputy minister and accused her of mismanagement. Despite the fact that the documents were presented that demonstrated the error of the information, the media outlet directed by Natalia Zuccolillo continued with the defamatory publications and the affected party filed the complaint.
Apart from this trial, the director of ABC and her journalist must also face a second trial for another lawsuit filed by former minister Marta González Ayala, since false information was published against her again.
In this case, the sentencing judge Juan Carlos Zárate set for February 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2023, at 8:30, the start of the second oral and public trial for defamation and slander.
The defense of González Ayala, established a position by pointing out that they are not going to present a judicial “gag” to the ABC newspaper to stop the publications, but they advanced that in the face of defamatory and slanderous acts they were going to take action in court.
