The girl who was abandoned yesterday, January 9, under a bridge in Tocumen, and who was rescued by a madman, is a full-term baby, that is, she reached 9 months of gestation, according to the medical authorities of the Hospital ” Irma de Lourdes Tzanetatos” of the Social Security Fund.
According to Leyla Muñoz Oro, Head of Neonatology at the hospital, the girl remains stable and most likely was born yesterday, a few hours before being abandoned.
He stressed that the maternal history is unknown, but that the girl is currently under medical surveillance and laboratories will continue to be carried out to corroborate her good health.
The newborn will be hospitalized for a few days for other medical evaluations and will be placed under the orders of the authorities of the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family (SENIAF), which carries out the corresponding procedures.
