In “Claro y Directo”, Augusto Álvarez Rodrich refers to a recent IEP survey on the electoral advance and the management of Dina Boluarte.
Augusto Alvarez Rodrich analyzes the results of a recent survey by the Institute of Peruvian Studies (IEP), in which 73% of those surveyed are in favor of general elections taking place this year 2023, while 20% would prefer that they be held in 2024 and 5%, in 2026.
“The majority would like to advance the elections and I think that is what is going to happen anyway, despite the fact that some are entrenching themselves in Congress. The country is heading towards that,” he said.
Likewise, he referred to the acceptance of the presidency of Dina Boluarte, according to this same survey. The results show that only 24% believe that she should continue with her mandate.
“I personally am in that 24%. I think that the least bad of scenarios, in the current situation, is one in which the election is brought forward for the last quarter of this year,” he said.
He reaffirmed his position, despite the “lack of leadership” of Dina Boluarte and Congress, since he does not “see who in the Legislature could replace her.”
