Various police sources indicate that a 28-year-old man died in his home and relate the case to the consumption of these pills. He would have consumed them at a party last Saturday at the Punta Carretas lighthouse. Other cases of intoxication have also been reported and the Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation.
The drug is an octagonal tablet, identified with the EA Sport logo in light blue and white. According to studies carried out by the Forensic Technical Institute (ITF) it is established that these tablets contain tenamfetamine (MDA).
The Board points out that “it is advised not to consume these tablets since in our country they have generated significant health difficulties for several users.”
It adds that “in case of making the decision to consume the EA Sport pill, do so with extreme caution, without redosing and avoiding combination with other substances.”
Finally, two toxicology investigations were opened: one with the skills carried out on the victim and another with the content of the pills.
