His life changed on October 8, 2006, when his son Raúl Carvajal Londoño died. Army versions indicated that he had died in the midst of a confrontation with the guerrillas. He always denounced the fact.

Exactly one year ago, a painful departure was confirmed that generated enormous sadness in Colombia, the death of Raúl Antonio Carvajal, ‘Don Raúl’, who fought for 15 years in search of justice for the murder of his son, a member of the National Army.

His death occurred that Sunday after battling for several days against Covid-19 and was confirmed by the association of the ‘False Positives’ Mothers of Colombia.

At the time, the lawyer Miguel Ángel Del Río Malo specified that his death was due to Covid-19.

  • “Oh, Don Raúl… he left us old. He left without finding justice and without being heard. But here we will continue, showing that his son and many others were part of the horror that the democratic security policy created, ”they maintained.

As will be remembered, since 2006 the life of ‘Don Raúl’ changed completely when on October 8 of that year, his son Raúl Carvajal Londoño died.

Versions of the Army, indicated that he died in the middle of confrontation against the guerrilla.

However, in 2011 and at the age of 63, he arrived at the Plaza de Bolívar with the body of his son, denouncing that the Colombian Army had murdered him for refusing to kill innocent people.

‘Don Raúl’ said that days before his son’s death he spoke with him and informed him that he would have a new granddaughter and confessed that he no longer wanted to be in the Army.

«This is very ugly, they sent me to kill two boys to pass them off as guerrillas killed in combat and I did not want to kill them. I am going to retire, I want to retire, ”he assured her.

That is why when he received the call from the Army, in which they notified him that his son had died, he began the fight to find the truth.

Since then he undertook a tour of the country to denounce this fact.
