A 49-year-old woman died this Monday morning after a crane fell on the Géant sidein it new shopping centerin the zone of Luis Alberto de Herrera and Artigas Boulevardreported police sources.
The crane fallof medium size, also caused the injury of two men who were in the basket of the crane, carrying out cleaning tasks on the façade of the shopping center.
The episode occurred around 9:18 a.m. The collapse of the machine was “from about 20 meters”which caused the death of the woman who was circulating in the area, “getting trapped under”added the Ministry of the Interior in a statement.

The two operators who worked in the crane basket, aged 45 and 19, suffered “various multiple injuries” although without loss of consciousness. They were assisted by medical personnel from the Fire Department and transferred to the State Insurance Bank.
