Detectives from the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) arrested a woman for alleged cruel treatment against her two minor children in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state. This was reported by the director of the organization, Douglas Rico.
The Barcelona Municipal Delegation commission carried out the procedure in the Las Mercedes sector, La Redoma street.
The detainee, identified as Dairimar Cristi Suniaga Marcano (29), is accused of repeatedly attacking her children, ages seven and eleven.
The investigation began after a complaint from a family member. According to the investigations, the woman subjected the children to constant physical attacks with her hands and blunt objects, such as sticks, which caused them multiple bruises.
Investigations determined that the attacks were motivated by the demand for money from the minors’ father.
After gathering the evidence, the officials captured the suspect and notified the case to the 16th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of Anzoátegui, a body that will continue the legal proceedings.
