Through a pulping machine, the municipality of Porongo seeks to industrialize the production of chachairú. The artifact was a initiative of a university student from the capital of Santa Cruza, who with ingenuity managed to offer the key tool to the producers of the traditional oriental fruit.
The equipment was prepared by a student of the Mechanical Engineering career of the Technological Private University of Santa Cruz (Utepsa), and financed by Fundación Trabajo y Empresa, which is ready to produce derivatives of achachairú.
“This project has been a degree thesis. It is a great achievement for me, because the Porongueños and the university helped me. (The machine) is made of stainless steel, It has a production capacity of 100 to 120 kilograms per hour. The idea was to help producers,” revealed student Álvaro Corini.
As Corini explained, he was struck by the time it took producers to harvest and extract the pulp. It was for this reason that an attempt was made to respond to this need.
The machine was already delivered to La Pascana in Porongo, where the activities of that locality generally take place.
That is why the Municipal Government of Porongo is going to acquire and deliver this mechanized equipment to young entrepreneurs between 18 and 25 years of age, so that they begin to produce the pulp of achachairú.
“We have decided to support the ventures and challenges of hundreds of Porongo producers, with the purpose that they can improve their economy, and offer the pulp to local and national companies, with a vision of exporting the star product of the porongueños”, they indicated from the porongueño commune.
