The 25-year-old girl lost her life in a traffic accident.
News Colombia.
The death of Sofía Quiroz, a 25-year-old motorcyclist known on social networks as “BikeGirl”, has generated deep consternation in the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area. The fatal accident occurred in the early hours of November 26 on the Floridablanca-Girón Ring Road, a road that has been noted for its high accident rate for years. According to the preliminary report, the young woman lost control of her motorcycle while trying to overtake between two vehicles and ended up being hit by a tractor-trailer.

Hours before the tragedy, Sofía shared a message on social networks that today causes chills. There he mentioned that his glasses had been damaged and that he would still have to drive without them, adding in a seemingly light tone: “I hope I don’t crash.” What seemed like a joke ended up becoming a painful omen that impacted family, friends and the biker community that followed its content.
The publication, which initially generated humorous comments among his followers, has now become a cause for deep reflection. Sofia’s message shows how a small adverse condition can represent a significant risk, especially when combined with the critical state of some roads in the country.

The accident once again put the deterioration of the Floridablanca-Girón Road Ring under the microscope, a corridor that drivers denounce as dangerous due to its holes, lack of signage, poor lighting and sections in poor condition. Residents of the area assure that this is not the first life that this road has claimed and that the promised interventions have not been enough to prevent tragedies.

Given what happened, the citizen reaction was immediate. On social networks and community groups, users demanded urgent actions from the authorities to improve infrastructure, reinforce controls and carry out works to reduce accidents. For many, Sofía’s death is yet another example of a problem that has been ignored for too long.
Today, the story of this young woman passionate about motorcycles leaves a clear message: the importance of prudence, of attending to every warning sign and demanding safe roads. His death becomes a voice that challenges everyone—drivers, citizens and authorities—to prevent new lives from being lost in circumstances that could have been prevented.
