A total of 85 new books and magazines will be presented during the 2022 Book Fair

Santo Domingo.– The extensive program that includes the 24th Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2022 (FILSD) includes the presentation of 85 new books and magazines, of which 17 belong to the National Publisher.

Some of the books that will be put into circulation at the fairgrounds deal with history, art or science, in addition to also presenting literary works and children’s books in this edition of the FILSD in which more than 100 publishing houses and more than 150 writers participate. nationals.

Among the books that will be presented is the work Social History of Santiago de los Caballeros 1900-1916, by historian and lawyer Edwin Espinal, winner of the 2020 José Gabriel García Annual History Award.

Also, the Dominican novel, by the writer of Dominican origin Angie Cruz, written in English and translated into Spanish by Kianny N. Antigua.

As a novelty, in this edition of the Santo Domingo International Book Fair, a work in braille will be published, aimed at people with visual disabilities; and a comic or cartoon, for lovers of this genre.

“This is a reflection of how the current management of this ministry is committed to the book sector, which is facing many challenges. This administration, taking initiatives related to the orange economy, seeks to find opportunity spaces in the publishing world”, said Rey Andújar, general producer of FILSD 2022.

In addition to the wide variety of books for sale, those attending the fair will be able to enjoy talks, conferences, colloquiums, talks, guided tours, poetry recitals and many other artistic and recreational activities around the book, the main protagonist of the event.
