A 17-year-old teenager, a victim of human trafficking who had been transported to El Tigre for the purposes of sexual exploitation, was rescued in a hotel located on España Avenue in the same city, reported authorities from the Socialist Police of the Simón Rodríguez municipality (Polisosir).
Officials assigned to the Coordinations of the Criminal Investigation Service and the Specialized Unit for Children and Adolescents of that security agency were the ones who rescued the young woman, after receiving an alert about the situation.
In the procedure, two citizens were arrested, allegedly linked to events that violated the rights of the young woman.
Through a video broadcast on social networks, it was detailed that the young woman had been brought from Barcelona on Wednesday. The comprehensive assistance and protection of the victim was coordinated, in collaboration with other institutions.
After the investigation, it was determined that one of the detainees, Néstor Daniel Torres Palacios (42 years old), posing as a businessman, recruited women and adolescents through social networks with false job offers.
It was also reported that the teenager’s mother, identified as 52-year-old Marina del Valle Lozada Barrera, received money from the work her daughter did through mobile payment, who was also detained.
The case was brought to the attention of the Twelfth Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry, in accordance with the provisions of the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents.
The general director of Polisosir, Commissioner Adriana Sosa, reiterated the police force’s commitment to the protection of children and adolescents, highlighting that “guaranteeing security is our mission. Every action we undertake aims to protect the life and integrity of our citizens, especially the most vulnerable such as our boys and girls.”
