The cultural managers Elva Quintela and Nino Gandarilla organized this Saturday a Tamboritas Festival in which sA dozen groups were presented, which simultaneously played various songs of oriental folklore.
The event, which began at 11:00, was held in front of the Fidalga supermarket, owned by Equipetrol, which sponsored the festival. For two hours the musicians were delighting those present with popular songs and some of the relatives of the musicians dressed up as traditional Santa Cruz characters and asked several of the attendees to dance.
“The humblest of the sectors within the musicians is that of the tamboritas and it has been one of the most affected by the pandemic. and due to all the restrictions, that is why we came up with a festival to make them visible again,” said Gandarilla, noting that the event was a way to celebrate the month of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. “ANDhe carnival that we defend is cultural, patrimonial, it is not drunkenness; so we are two cultural managers who care about that and to celebrate this month that is so important for the people of Santa Cruz”, said the organizer of the festival.
