A young student from the Autonomous University of Coahuila, in Mexico, succeeded in developing a type of layered pavement it can regenerate only with the use of water. He named that invention Pafelc or self-regenerative rubber flooring.
The student, identified as Israel Antonio Briceño, was able to develop this material from car tires. which supposes a great difference in the pavement as we know it, since the current one, when the water reaches its base, deteriorates it, and eventually collapses.

For its part, Felc flooring, at the moment it comes into contact with water, begins a chemical reaction that regenerates it.
This revolutionary invention made this young student win a prize named after a renowned British inventor, James Dyson.
