An aircraft of the line southwest bound for Fort Lauderdale detected failures in one of its engines during the takeoff process and had to make an emergency landing in Havana this noon, according to a note spread by the official newspaper Granma.
No one was injured during the landing at the José Martí international airport. The event happened shortly after noon this Sunday, March 5.
The Cuban Aviation Corporation SA (CACSA) reported on its official channels about the incident that occurred in the Boeing 737 aircraft of the Southwest airline (SWA 3923).
“Following the established procedure, its landing at the Havana Airport was authorized. The passengers were evacuated and are in good condition”, highlights the information.
CACSA indicated that the causes that originated said event are being investigated and highlighted that, at this time, the airport facility maintains its regular operations.
