A small plane catches fire after falling in Peji; the pilot died and two crew members were injured

A small plane crashed and caught fire while trying to landing on a runway in Peji, en route to Camiri. The pilot died after the accident and two crew members, with serious burn injuries, were transferred to medical centers in La Guardia and the Santa Cruz capital.

Major Jim Nágera Justiniano, from Bolivian Ambulances, indicated that the incident was reported after 11:00 this Saturday.so he commanded an emergency unit to evacuate the wounded pilot.

“The plane tried to land and burned instantly, the pilot was seriously injured but due to the burns on 90% of his body he did not resist,” said Nágera.

In addition to the deceased pilot, two other people were badly injured, who were evacuated to different medical centers.

The plane crash occurred about 20 minutes from the town of Peji, near a local runway. The aircraft exploded after its forced landing. “At the moment the only thing that is known is that the plane was undone. No other elements have been found, the Police are waiting to arrive at the scene and carry out the investigations,” he said.
