Some time ago the big media ceased to be “the watchdogs” of the fundamental rights of citizens, to reconvert themselves into strategic partners of the interests of the most powerful.
The latest episode of this shameful submission and betrayal of professional duties took place last week in Europe, when most of the media overlooked an event of enormous importance: the appearance of the big pharmaceutical companies to explain their management, its unfulfilled promises, of the results obtained. Despite the fact that they remained silent on most of the questions (some very simple, such as why did they suspend a study on the effects of vaccines on pregnant women? Why are the countries with the highest vaccination rates the ones that have had by coronavirus?), something became clear: the premise on which governments were based to suspend some constitutional rights of citizenship was false. Gene therapies never stopped the pandemic -it cannot even be ruled out that they have accelerated it- but they did cause serious (and deadly, in some cases) side effects for health, without considering the poverty generated in a large part of the population.
Many times the truth is difficult to accept, especially when it implies that we are not as smart as we think we are. Accepting that we have been deceived by ignorance, fear and cowardice requires extraordinary levels of humility, within the reach of a privileged few. But journalism cannot give up the facts, nor ask for explanations for them, no matter how much money is at stake, no matter how many mercenaries are on the loose willing to betray the most sacred thing in the world: the dignity of human life. That is why here we record our sincere and deep gratitude to Cristian Terhes and Sylvia Limmer, MEPs from Romania and Germany, respectively, and to their colleagues who, after the intervention of the Pfizer spokesperson in the European Parliament, listed before the media communication all the falsehoods, inconsistencies, manipulations and silences of those who call themselves scientists and got enormously rich playing with people’s health.
