In view of the controversy that exists in the country over the theme of mobility applicationsthe ICT Minister, Sandra Milena Urrutia, pointed out that the country must generate “a legal framework that harmonizes what happens in real life with the new needs of digital transformation.”

“Colombia must guarantee technological neutrality. We cannot ignore the role of technology in the lives of citizens through quality services that give users confidence; however, a regulatory framework is needed”, Urrutia pointed out.
Likewise, the head of the ICT portfolio, specified about the importance of technology to generate productivity, new sources of wealth and quality of life; Hence the importance of generating “legal security in such a way that these services have a legal framework that allows them to grow and develop for the benefit of the citizen and the ecosystem.”

Finally, Urrutia affirmed that Colombia is part of the ITU, the specialized agency of the United Nations for ICTs, “in charge of regulating telecommunications at the international level between the member states and the operating companiess”.
