Three deceased and several injured left an electric shock reported on Friday afternoon in the Holguinero municipality of Moa.
The incident happened at the entrance of the Cupey neighborhood, a town located on the Moa-Barraca road, east of the MOA, according to the journalist Yulieska Hernández García from Facebook.
According to statements by one of the injured, Irelemis Ortiz del Rosario, about five in the afternoon it began to rain and a group of people took advantage of the existence of an awning they saw near the road to take care.
“When we had an hour or so to be there, that I didn’t stop from Escampo, a thunder fell on top of the canvas-carpa. And I felt that my eyes clouded, I felt like a strong corriezo, and fell to the ground, at a long distance about two meters.”
Recovered from the impact, Ortiz del Rosario reached stores to the road, located about one hundred meters. From there he asked for help, although he was ignored by several cars that passed, including a bus, until they finally received attention and were taken to the hospital.
“It was a hard experience,” he said.
All the injured were treated at the Guillermo Luis Hospital in the territory, which was attended by the highest political and government authorities to be interested in the situation of the affected people, according to the journalist of the local telecentro.
The deceased have been identified as: Leonel Velázquez Legrá, 34, a neighbor of the distribution Armando Mestre in Moa; Eniolquis Romero Torres, 33, a neighbor of Guama, in Baracoa, and Lázaro Rodríguez Peña, 36, with residence in Holguín.
In addition to Ortiz del Rosario, among the injured are also Yuxander Robles Robles, Lisbeth Pajan Silot and Dantry Revé Quiala.
