The judicial advance against Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the trial for public works in Santa Cruz unified this week the coalition of the Frente de Todos, with the presence of the militancy and the leadership in the streets and a call to be in “state of alert and mobilization” to unify strategies and organize a massive march in support of the vice president.
“All united, on alert and mobilized in the streets we will triumph”, appears as the new motto of Peronism readapted to post-pandemic times and in the face of a judicial process that is counting down against the main referent of Peronism with a request from the prosecution to that they sentence her to 12 years in prison and disqualify her for life from holding public office.
The scenario, according to FdT referents and Peronist analysts, configures a scenario that can lead to “another October 17”.
“All united we will triumph”, prays the mythical march, a call that is resignified for the moment that the PJ lives with the judicial situation of the former president, whom prosecutors Diego Luciani and Sergio Mola accused of being “the head of an illicit association ” in the trial for the public road works of Santa Cruz and for whom They asked for 12 years in prison and disqualification from holding public office.
The prosecutors’ allegation against Fernández de Kirchner struck like a bomb within the FdT although, Instead of blowing up, it had the opposite effect, since the shock wave united all sectors of the coalition, even the most distant.
Thus, spontaneously, the bids for positioning or the contradictions in the face of the situation, attenuated in this new stage of the Government after the arrival of Sergio Massa, and thinking about possible candidacies in next year’s elections, vanished and all sectors lined up behind the defense of the Vice President.
In an unprecedented occasion that is not remembered in recent decades, the Justicialist Party at the national level, the PJ from the province of Buenos Aires and the one of the city of Buenos Aires They met on the same day –last Thursday- in their districts and they did not have half measures in supporting Cristina Kirchner and in decreeing the party in a state of “alert and mobilization”.
Without activity for months, the historic headquarters at 130 Matheu Street, CABA, reopened its doors and in a Council meeting led by Zoom by the head of state and party president, Alberto Fernández, “all Peronist compañeros and compañeras throughout our homeland, in all basic units and party headquarters, were summoned to remain united, organized, mobilized and on permanent alert”.
Overwhelmed by the demonstrations by supporters of the Vice President who are not part of an organic, political or trade union structure, which had as its epicenter the home of Cristina Kirchner in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Recoletathe PJ and the other spaces that make up the FdT activated the party machinery to redirect the militants’ desire to express themselves in the streets.
With the organization of the FdT of each district, what was called the first “cristinazo”a very positive thermometer on the validity of the feeling of a part of the population that supports Cristina Kirchner and that does not hesitate to go out to the streets to express its loyalty, as was seen this weekend throughout the country.
With this sample given by the bases in several districts, but especially in the area surrounding the Vice President’s department, a “great march” is still latent to centralize all the micro-demonstrations that have arisen since Monday, as soon as Luciani’s statement ended.
From the PJ, it is being analyzed to concretize this great mobilization on a date prior to October 17, but with a similar imprint.
As Télam was able to learn, the day proposed by Alberto Fernández himself before the Party Council was Friday September 16, which could be defined this Tuesday 30 in the new meeting that will take place at the PJ headquarters in Matheu 130.
From celebrating the 75th anniversary of October 17 virtually and everyone locked up by the coronavirus pandemic to filling the squares of all the provinces is a very different scenario for the Government that now has Peronism on the street, active and with a different for 2023.
In a setting that is expected to be massive and with the Peronist liturgy, the PJ of the province of Buenos Aires will meet again next Saturday, September 3, in the municipality of Merlo, in the same place where the presidential formula Alberto Fernández- Cristina Kirchner in 2019.
The special seasoning of the Buenos Aires PJ meeting led by the national deputy Máximo Kirchner will be the possible presence of the President and Vice President in the suburbs of Buenos Aireswhere the greatest support for the FdT resides at the polls, according to the Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis.
From the very foundations also came the motto ‘Christina 2023’which later generated one of the most repeated images on social networks when the Vice President, when greeting the militants who participated in the vigil at her house, wore a cap that had that legend, which was also transferred to some walls in the suburbs .
But in these mobilizations the justicialismo is not alone, the same expectation is shared by other spaces of the coalition: along these lines, the Buenos Aires Faith Party, led by Cecilio Salazar, also supported and sent its solidarity to the Vice President, while condemning the advanced judicial.
In this context, Maximo Kirchner participated on Friday in a plenary session of delegates of the Metallurgical Workers’ Union (UOM) in the town of Avellaneda, where he targeted former president Mauricio Macri.
The next day, on Twitter, it was Cristina Kirchner who returned to charge against the former president and leader of Together for Changeso that the times of reproaches, criticism and retorts between different sectors of the ruling party are left behind: now there is not only a united FdT but, they evaluate from the coalition’s own ranks, “they woke up the Peronist gene that was asleep”.
