Bolívar noted that “in fact, those over 80 years old went from receiving 80,000 pesos to 225,000 pesos. Prosperidad Social hopes that, with the implementation of the pension reform, approved by Congress, this increase can be extended approximately to 3,000,000 elderly people, thanks to the Solidarity Pillar that is part of the reform.”
Prosperidad Social took advantage of the announcement to invite beneficiaries to update their contact information to improve the program’s service. They can contact the free help lines in Bogotá: 601 379 48 40; from the rest of the country, 01-8000-95-1100; or through the program’s links in the municipal mayor’s offices.
“Each participant will be sent a text message, notifying them the date and amount to be received. Once the senior citizen presents his/her physical ID, compliance is verified. of the requirements and is entered into the program’s information system. The information is cross-checked with external databases to ensure that the person does not receive a pension or income. The places are assigned in strict order of priority, according to the assigned shifts, since each municipality has a limit of beneficiaries.
