A motorcyclist killed a firefighter in El Cementerio

Three members of El Toco killed

A fire department employee was shot and killed early Saturday morning in El Cementerio, Caracas, according to police reports.

Preliminary reports indicate that the murdered man has been identified as Leonel José Piñate Maestre, who held the rank of colonel, assigned to the El Valle Fire Station. Piñate Maestre was traveling in a vehicle on Altamira Street in El Cementerio when he was approached by a motorcyclist who shot him twice in the right intercostal muscle.

Officials from the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) went to the site after receiving an alert from the residents of the area. They transferred the firefighter to the University Clinical Hospital where he was admitted without vital signs, according to the sources.

In another incident, a subject murdered Nairobi Rojas García (36) with multiple stab wounds, an incident that occurred early Friday morning on Avenida Este 15 at the intersection with Fuerzas Armadas Avenue, Cotiza, Caracas.

Initial reports indicate that the woman had just arrived with her boyfriend. But another man with whom she had been in a relationship attacked her with a knife, leaving her seriously injured. Nairobi’s neighbors took her to the Miguel Pérez Carreño hospital where she died. Nairobi left behind three children and worked as a maintenance worker in an office in Chacaito. The CICPC opened an investigation.
