Yurisleidis Remedios Lemes, mother of triplets and resident of Santiago de Cuba, has published a harsh video on her Facebook account in which she denounces that she does not have liquefied gas service to cook her children’s food. In just over ten minutes, the young woman from Santiago also attacks Miguel Díaz-Canel and the Cuban political model.
“I am that mother of triplets who has asked the government so much to please help me with the children’s gas situation,” this is how you start your complaint He is a resident at Micro 10 in the José Martí District in the capital of Santiago. The woman has been demanding that the liquefied gas service be provided for years, but so far all her efforts have been unsuccessful.
This Wednesday morning, Remedios Lemes visited the local government headquarters and an official assured her that her case had passed to the state-run Union Cuba Petróleo (Cupet). However, that same morning they gave him a document rejecting his request because “contracting for the released gas has been paralyzed due to a shortage of cylinders in the country” and will only be restored “when the conditions are created.”

“Tell me what condition this country should have and in what year are they going to give me the gas?” asks the young mother, who details that in the absence of the service she must cook with charcoal, something that aggravates her suffering from asthma. The woman directly questions Díaz-Canel: “Be aware of this mother and send them to give me the gas. I know that you are not interested in what happens to Cuban mothers, but I can’t take it anymore.”
“My lungs hurt. If they don’t give me gas, I’m going to throw myself into the street with my children and I’m going to cook with firewood in front of the government,” warns the young woman, adding that “this government is bankrupt because not even gas can give it to this mother of triplets. Remedios Lemes explains that her children have health problems that are aggravated by the situation of hardship that the family is experiencing.
Faced with the possible accusations against her for making this complaint, the woman from Santiago is forceful: “No one is paying me anything. If they paid me I would not be talking so much and would go out to buy food,” she stresses. “If you don’t want to help me, at least get me out of this shitty country with my children, because we don’t want to be here either,” she acknowledges.
The woman regrets that with the successive blackouts to the refrigerator in her house, the machine burned: “In this heat my children cannot drink even a glass of cold water.” Díaz-Canel, you have no heart. You play dumb, you don’t know anything about what’s going on but you know everything “, he denounces.” Come and send the police, send whoever you want, I can’t take it anymore “.
Remedios Lemes assures that she has her own liquefied gas cylinder, something that she had already reported to the authorities, so she does not understand that they deny her the service alleging that there is a lack of containers in the country. In a desperate tone he predicts: “I know they are going to put me in jail and they are going to beat me in the ribs like they are doing in Nuevitas, they are going to beat my children, but I am going to throw myself into the street with them” .

The woman also lashes out against stores in freely convertible currency. “Yesterday I passed by La Piedra and there were all kinds of jams and everything there. There was almost no one to buy and I was looking through the glass and thinking when my children will be able to eat a candy, a jam. I do not have anyone outside to send me a dollar.

Don’t take it anymore!” Yurisleidis Remedios Lemes ends up shouting in the video that in a few hours has been widely shared on Facebook and also through WhatsApp, a phenomenon similar to that which occurred with a recording of Amelia Calzadilla last june.
On that occasion, the young mother residing in Havana, took it against the authorities also for the high prices of electricity and the daily hardships she faces to feed her children.
