A mother and her son lost their lives during the early hours of this Sunday due to the collapse of a second floor in Old Havana.
The victims were identified as Carlos Fidel Sánchez Díaz, 38 years old, and Sara Paula Díaz, 64 years old; mother and son died due to the collapse of the building, according to a post shared on Facebook by journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso.
Joint rescue and rescue forces, the National Revolutionary Police and the Ministry of Public Health were working at the scene, according to the information that does not offer details of the event and does not elaborate on whether there were injuries.
The tragedy occurred on Compostela Street # 568, between Muralla and Sol in the Belén popular council in the Habana Vieja municipality.
