Crime continues to take victims in Lima. A married couple was murdered inside their parked vehicle after withdrawing money from a bank. The double crime occurred on the afternoon of last Friday, December 2, on Pinto Avenue, in front of the Municipality of Alto de la Alianza, Tacna region.
Security cameras recorded when the offender gets off a motorcycle and carrying a white bag walks towards the car that is parked. From there he opens one of the doors and from the bag he took out the gun to point it at Lourdes Mejía Nagua (54), who was sitting in the front seat.
At that moment, a struggle ensued as the woman was carrying a bag that contained the large sum of money. Then, Luis Zúñiga Vargas (65) appears on the scene, who got out of the back seat into the street to stop the robbery. However, the thug decided to shoot the woman in the head and then shot the man three times.
Immediately after the attack on the husband’s partner, the offender took the money and ran to the motorcycle where his accomplice was waiting for him and then they both fled. Due to gunshot wounds, both Lourdes Mejía and her husband Luis Zúñiga died.
The married couple were inside the car after one of their relatives left them for a moment in that place to go to carry out a procedure at a notary.
“Both were merchants”, said an acquaintance of the murdered couple who resisted the theft of their money. The first information details that the victims were followed by two subjects, whose faces were recorded by security cameras.
