The Third Collegiate Court of the National District sentenced a man to 12 years in prison who was found guilty of stabbing his stepfather to death in the sector of Saint Charles, of the National District.
The convicted person was identified Luis Miguel Manzano Garcia, who must serve the sentence in the public jail of the municipality of Bani, Province peravian.
Judges Arlin Ventura and Milagros Ramírez accepted in all their parts the expert, testimonial and documentary evidence provided by the trial prosecutor Leydi García, with which the criminal responsibility of the accused in the crime of “parricide” was demonstrated, to the detriment of Inocencio Angomás .
“National District Prosecutor’s Office establishes that the crime occurred on January 12, 2020, at a time when the victim was having a heated discussion with his wife, Ana Hilda García Villar,” according to a press release.
The document reports that when the woman’s son tried to mediate, Angomás insulted him and warned him not to intervene.
“Manzano García looked for a dagger and caused a wound on his left side, which caused his death, which occurred hours later in a health center,” states the press release.
According to the file, Manzano García injured his mother’s hand when she tried to intervene to prevent the tragedy.
The Public Ministry described Luis Miguel’s action as a violation of articles 295, 299 and 302, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code, and articles 83 and 86 of Law 631-16, on the Control and Regulation of Arms, Ammunition and Related Materials.
