Thanks to the evidence provided by the Attorney General’s Office, a criminal judge from the Rionegro Circuit, Antioquia, sentenced a man to 33 years and 4 months in prison for being responsible for the crime of aggravated homicide.
The individual was prosecuted for the death of his 18-month-old daughter, which was committed on December 17, 2020 in the municipality of Rionegro, eastern Antioquia.
In the work of the Judicial Police, the minor was found dead one day after the crime, in an unpopulated area of Rionegro. According to expert reports, the girl’s body had blows to her face and head.

Initially, the man informed the authorities that he had been the victim of a substance that made him lose consciousnessa, and that her daughter had been abducted by unknown persons.
The CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Sijín and the National Army were in charge of capturing the man. The first instance decision was appealed before the Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Antioquia by the defendant’s defense.
