More than 100 vehicles are stranded this Saturday at the entrance gate to San Ignacio de Velasco, including several fleets that yesterday began their journey to the border town of San Matías. Due to a mishap in San Ramón, they could not pass the blockade point before midnight.
The passengers, including several women and children, had to search for food in San Ignacio. Sonia Charupa, one of those affected, told this medium that “it is inhuman not to let the fleets pass”
“We are short on money and we cannot afford to spend,” he said with tears in his eyes.
Other passengers are looking for alternative routes to continue their journey. One of the options is the trufis, which charge up to Bs 180 per transfer from San Ignacio to San Matías.
Given the large number of people, there are some who do not have resources, so they ask the blockers to declare an intermediate room in order to reach their destination.
The passengers whose final destination was San Ignacio de Velasco traveled in private vehicles to that town, which is 10 km from the bar.
