A hat-trick from Alfio keeps Cerro alive

Hoy Paraguay

It was not an easy game for those of Chiqui Arce. In the first half, the only incident was the quick expulsion of Guillermo Hauché (16 ‘), through the intervention of the VAR that led to a direct red card for the Mallorcan Red player.

With the 0-0 the first stage was dismissed, in which Cerro did not find a way to hurt his rival and take advantage of the men on the court.

For the complementary stage, much of the emotion remained in the match, with Alfio Oviedo as the main protagonist.

At 54′, the Barça striker opened the scoring with a good finish that overcame the resistance of visiting goalkeeper Gustavo Arévalos.

However, the surprise would come in the 67th minute when José Vera, with a header, scored the partial 1-1. Juan León Mallorquín’s team even came close to taking the lead despite being down to 10 players, but Jean Fernandes appeared to prevent the second fall of his goal.

Thus, at 71′, Oviedo once again made itself felt to put Ciclón on top, which eight minutes later (79′) would win quietly with a new goal from Alfio, scoring his hat-trick and the final 3-1 .

With this result, Cerro Porteño reached 47 points to stay four behind the leader Libertad, who also won today. On the next date, these contenders for the title will meet in La Huerta.

Meanwhile, General Caballero JLM was left with 17 units and remains complicated in the table of averages for permanence.

The entrance A hat-trick from Alfio keeps Cerro alive was first published in diary TODAY.
