A former official of the Judicial Branch is arrested for alleged link to the Clan del Golfo in the ‘Damasco operation’

A follow-up work of Operation Damasco this Thursday resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old woman in the Espigadilla sector, Los Santos province.

The detained woman apparently belongs to the circle of aliases “Robert”, one of the most wanted for the crime of receiving and transferring drugs linked to Colombian cartels of the Clan del Golfo.

The National Police and the Attorney General’s Office, who monitor Operation Damascus, reported that the woman appears as an official of the Judicial Branch.

The woman arrived under heavy guard at Marcos A. Gelabert Airport in Albrook.

John Omar Dornheim, general director of the National Police, stated that the arrest of the citizen who cooperated with organized crime is the product of joint work between the National Police and the Public Ministry.

“This arrest makes it clear that we are not going to allow and we will continue to investigate all people who break the law, those who take advantage of their position to cooperate in illegal activities,” Dornheim said.

He announced that the arrest is the product of monitoring and they will continue the investigation. “They are people who are within the circle of aliases ‘Robert.’ to homes. They are people who have caused damage and continue to cause damage to society,” he said.
