The body of former São Paulo Civil Police General Ruy Ferraz Fontes, executed by criminals in Praia Grandeon the coast of São Paulo, has been veiled since 11:10 this Tuesday (16) in the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp), in the capital.
The body left the Legal Medical Institute (IML) around 7:30 am and was taken to Alesp, where it will be veiled until 15h. The ceremony accompanies friends, family, politicians and authorities of the State of São Paulo, including the Secretary of Public Security of São Paulo, Guilherme Derrite, state and federal deputies, as well as the mayor of the capital, Ricardo Nunes.
Sources, who was currently secretary of administration of the city of Praia Grande, was killed around 6 pm on Monday (15), in a neighborhood near the city hall and the municipality’s forum.
Safety cameras images showed their car at high speed until overthrown between two buses while trying to enter an avenue. The car that chased him arrives shortly after and from him comes three men with rifles. The images show two of them going to the sources car and firing several shots. Then they get in the car and run away from the same avenue where they chased sources.
According to the city of Praia Grande, two other men were injured in the occurrence. They were attended by the SAMU teams and sent to UPA Quieitude, from where they were transferred to the Sister Dulce Municipal Hospital, with no risk of death.

The mayor of Praia Grande, Alberto Mourão, spoke in a video, saying he is very sad for the death of the Secretary of Administration. Mourão praised his role as a general delegate and said that sources worked intensely for the police to have means, conditions and technology available to increasingly make a good service to society.
“Unfortunately, it was eventually murdered by people who are unaware of motivation. But it is essential to find out these facts. The police are already making all the staff available and the governor [Tarcísio de Freitas] He called and said he put the whole task force to find out this situation intensely. It is up to us at this moment to be sympathetic to his family, who is currently suffering a lot from death, ”he said.
The São Paulo Public Security Bureau (SSP-SP) reported by note that it determined a task force integrated by the Civil and Military Police, to identify and locate those involved in the murder of sources.
“Teams are in continuous steps in the region with the support of Military Police Battalions – including the Santos Special Police Action Battalion (Baep) and Ostensive Rounds Tobias de Aguiar (Route) teams”.
Also according to SSP-SP, the case was registered with the General Investigations Police Station (DIG) of Praia Grande and will be investigated by the Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP), with support from other departments. “Two vehicles were seized in the occurrence and images of security cameras are analyzed. Exams were requested from the Institute of Criminalistics (IC), which are under preparation,” said the secretary.

Also by means of a note, the São Paulo State Police Ombudsman said he was sympathized with family members, friends and mates of sources, who referred as a police officer who ‘had a trajectory noted for combating organized crime in its various modalities. “
For the ombudsman, the episode calls for a fresh investigation and immediate punishment of the culprits, to avoid more deaths, as well as the excessive use of the police force, as recorded in operations in that region of the state, such as the so -called shield and summer.

On the night of Monday (15), the prosecutor confirmed that it will act in the investigation of the case.
“The Attorney General, Paulo Sérgio de Oliveira and Costa, in conversation with the Secretary of State for Security, Guilherme Derrite, reported that the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) will support the investigation of the Civil Police in the case of execution of former General Ruy Ferraz Fontes, which took place on Monday, in Praia Grande,” said the agency through a note.

Sources was delegated for more than 40 years, having gone through the Homicide Division of the State Department of Homicide and Protection of Persons (DHPP), as well as being a police chief of the 1st Police Police Station of Narcotics Investigation of the State Department of Narcotrafficking (Denarc), police chief of the 5th Police Station of the State Department of the State Department Criminal Investigations (Deic) and commanded other police stations and divisions in the capital.
He was also director of the Capital Judicial Police Department (Decap) and was at the head of the São Paulo State Police Station.
Sources was responsible for the arrest of CCP leaders in the 2000s, when he worked on the repression of banks’ theft, and as a general delegate, a role he held until 2022. After retiring, he took over the Praia Grande Secretariat of Administration (January 2023), remaining in the management that began in 2025, with Mayor Alberto Mourão.
