A daughter in Miami and grandchildren with European citizenship: the privileges of the Rosales del Toro family

Nietos del general Ulises Rosales del Toro en Varadero.

MIAMI, United States. – The four children of Cuban General Ulises Rosales del Toro – former chief of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and former vice president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba – lead “a reality of privileges” marked by access to exclusive resources, in contrast to the daily crisis on the Island, according to a report published this Tuesday by Martí News.

The investigation, signed by Mario J. Pentón, maintains that one of the general’s daughters, doctor Alina Rosales Aguirreurreta, entered the United States in 2023 with a B1/B2 tourist visa issued in Havana and resides today in Miami, according to family sources and those close to her cited by Martí News. According to the same sources, the woman “would be waiting to regularize her immigration status.”

Another daughter of Rosales del Toro, Zulema Rosales Aguirreurreta, currently resides in Cancún and frequently travels to Cuba, according to the same journalistic work. Close sources cited by the media assured that the woman maintains businesses in Havana, including a daycare center called Sweet Dreams, described as one of the most expensive in the Kholy neighborhood, in addition to other private ventures.

The report also indicates that a son of Zulema Rosales Aguirreurreta, Raúl Ulises Castro Rosales, 34 years old and with Spanish citizenship, lives in Italy, where he was married in a “sumptuous wedding” according to “public records.”

As for Perla Rosa Rosales Aguirreurreta, Martí News recalled that in 2017 was designated as successor within the wealth and business management framework linked to the company Habaguanex SA,

The report describes her as an official with access to the economy in foreign currency around the heritage and tourism sector, of which there is evidence in her own social networks.

Regarding the only male child, Carlos Ulises Rosales Aguirreurreta, the text indicates that he has a profile of low public exposure and a career linked to the military establishment, but places the focus on his family nucleus. According to testimonies collected by the media, his wife, Marilyn Pérez Medina, would be linked to the residential administration of properties in the State’s corporate housing and leasing system, which would provide the family with access to penthouses and exclusive residences used for rent to foreigners or accommodation for privileged personnel.

The report also points to the general’s grandchildren. He points out that Daniela Rosales Pérez showed for years – according to social media profiles that she reviewed Martí News— a pattern of travel and consumption, and that friends of hers claim that she and a brother would have European citizenship, used to travel more easily.

Likewise, the investigation adds that part of these publications would have been eliminated after “internal warnings.”

Regarding the Rosales del Toro Aguirreurreta family, researcher Luis Domínguez, from the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba, told Martí News: “In a country where the State demands ‘resistance’ and ‘austerity’ from the majority, the elite does not tighten its belt.” “They move from privileged residences, access services unthinkable for the common citizen and—when appropriate—even find refuge in the country that the official discourse presents as an enemy,” he added.
