(EFE).- The Cuban exile leader in Miami Orlando Gutierrez holds in his book Cuba: the doctrine of lies (Academica Press) that the implantation of communism on the island was something “conceived and planned by an international team,” as he told EFE on Tuesday before presenting it.
Gutiérrez, who is in charge of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistancestressed that the book, written in English but awaiting translation into Spanish, is the result of three years of research.
In reviewing the first speeches of Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara after the triumph of the revolution in 1959 and the exploration of other direct sources Gutiérrez said he had found “a plan” to destroy the Cuban economy, especially agriculture, and make the island a platform to promote an international pro-communist agenda.
The author of the book affirms that a group of Hispanic-Soviet people who had participated in the crushing of the rebellions against the USSR in Eastern European countries, among other communists of different origin, was part of the international team.
To a question from EFE as to why they chose Cuba for this alleged plan, the exile leader replied that it is “90 miles (144 km)” from the United States and asserted that “definitely” the objective was also to harm the northern neighbor. “The people who were around the Castros and the international team that helped them had very radically anti-American positions,” that is, opposed to the United States, he says.
Regarding the title of the book, Gutiérrez said that it is due to the fact that “to justify the consolidation of an authoritarian regime, a whole series of lies was created”
Regarding the title of the book, Gutiérrez said that it is due to the fact that “in order to justify the consolidation of an authoritarian regime, a whole series of lies was created” about the Cuba prior to the triumph of the revolution in 1959. They spread them through “a massive use of television in a very clever way to create a narrative and induce a mass to follow the voice of the leader,” he added.
On the back cover of Cuba: The Doctrine of Lies it is emphasized that the work discovers the “true nature of totalitarianism and how religion, philosophy, culture, tradition and individual freedom are the most effective antibodies to counteract this deadly ontological virus”.
For Gutiérrez, an important chapter in the creation of a totalitarian state is why Cuba was sought to stop being the agrarian “power” it was until 1959, something from which the country has not recovered to this day.
The way to control the urban middle class, which, according to him, is always an “obstacle” for totalitarian plans, is by “controlling food,” says the also leader of the Cuban Democratic Directorate.
In his opinion, the agrarian reform was “an excuse” to set up the national institute that was in charge of that task and that was “a shadow government” in favor of totalitarianism, during the coalition that existed in the early days after the triumph of the forces that fought against Fulgencio Batista, who ruled Cuba “de facto” from 1952 to 1958.
