A Cuban dies in a car accident in Guyana

MIAMI, United States. — A Cuban citizen identified as Bárbara Bell Sánchez died this Thursday in a car accident in Guyana, the police of that South American country reported.

The tragedy occurred around half past three in the afternoon when a minibus carrying 13 passengers (including Indians and Cubans) collided with a pickup truck on a curve located between miles 39 and 40 of the Mabura Trail.

The minibus, registration BVV 5815 and owned by Kitty’s Eon Sinclair, was driven by driver Kirk Allicock, 35. Neither the license plate nor the name of the driver of the other vehicle have been identified.

The investigation highlights that as a result of the collision both vehicles burst into flames. In the case of the deceased Cuban, she was sitting behind the driver and was trapped in the minibus when it caught fire.

The driver and other passengers who were injured were taken to Linden Hospital. From there, four people (two men and two women) were treated and referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

The Guyana Police report indicates that the driver and other people involved in the accident continue to be treated at Linden Hospital.

The news of the death of the Cuban was confirmed on social networks by colleagues who shared with her and her husband in the congregation of the municipality of Jovellanos, province of Matanzas.

“I am sorry to inform you that our sister Bárbara Bell Sánchez, wife of Juan Rodríguez Escalona, ​​who served as pastors for many years in our beloved congregation in Park Temple, Jovellanos, passed away on Thursday, February 2 in a car accident in Guyana,” he wrote on Facebook. the user Carlos Macias.

Macías himself reported on the social network about a campaign to collect help for Juan Rodríguez Escalona, ​​husband of Bárbara Bell Sánchez, who lost everything in the accident.

“We have created a WhatsApp group to coordinate help for our brother Juan Rodríguez Escalona, ​​who as a result of the accident also lost all his belongings, luggage, money, documents. If you are interested in joining this initiative, you can contact me privately”, wrote the Internet user.
