The Sebin arrested this Tuesday the 7th the councilor in Angostura del Orinoco in Bolívar, Jeremy Santamaría. According to relatives, they intercepted him on Táchira Avenue in Ciudad Bolívar, after leaving the Municipal Chamber session.
Between Saturday, January 4 and Tuesday, January 7, a councilor, several leaders of political organizations, members of civil society and a businessman were detained by officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) in the states of Bolívar and Trujillo.
Since last 4 in the state of Trujillo, six people were arrested by hooded individuals in official cars, most of them related to the political organization Vente Venezuela or collaborators. According to media information Andes Diaryfive are from the Pampanito municipality.
On the night of January 6, Marianela Ojeda and Francisco Graterol, both active members of Vente Venezuela, were arrested; Alejandro Briceño, activist of Democratic Action; Robert Rea, collaborator of Vente Venezuela but not a member of the organization, and Darío Durán, a local merchant.
Meanwhile, on January 4 in the Motatán municipality, Enger Jordán, also a collaborator of Vente in the Andean state, was arrested. On the afternoon of January 7, there was no information about the whereabouts of these six people.
The leader Héctor Ferrer denounced that in addition to the arrests carried out in security agency vans, he was notified that there are other arrest warrants, including one against him. “They inform me that within the municipality there is an arrest warrant against me, I fear for my life and that of my daughters,” he indicated.

This is the fifth opposition leader detained since December in the region: four from Ciudad Bolívar, who remain at the Sebin headquarters in the state capital, and another is in Puerto Ordaz.
