Mild coastal flooding occurred in low-lying areas of the north coast of Havana this Monday, due to the arrival yesterday of the seventh cold front of the season.
Traffic has been diverted from Malecón to Línea Street, in El Vedado, and at certain points along the coast it has penetrated the sea.
“Thank God for now it hasn’t been so much because with the situation with the water it would be the last straw for the cistern to fill up with seawater,” explains a resident of the area.
After the passage of the front, the high pressures began to act on the national territory causing a drop in temperatures. The inhabitants of the capital have had to dress for winter in recent hours, although according to meteorologists, the coldest temperatures should arrive on Tuesday.
According to him Institute of Meteorology of Cuba, temperatures today will reach maximums between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius in the west and in the center, and up to 30 in the east, while at the end of the afternoon they will drop and have values at night between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius .
