The explosion occurred minutes before noon on Rayón Avenue, in the Centro neighborhood.
“The FGR opened an investigation folder to find those responsible for these regrettable events, while at the same time providing the necessary support to the Attorney General’s Office of that entity, through experts specialized in explosives to be able to obtain the identity and arrest of those responsible,” the agency reported.
Elements from the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense), Navy, Secretariat of Security, National Guard and the state Secretariat of Public Security also participate in the investigation.
The elements reinforced security in the area with the deployment of Armed Forces in “strategic points to guarantee the safety of the population.”
Separately, the Secretary of the Government of Michoacán, Raúl Zepeda Villaseñor, declared that those injured by the explosion were airlifted to the Michoacán capital to receive immediate attention.
He added that the security operation that remains active in the region also aims to locate those responsible for the incident and guarantee the protection of the population.
