A bridge to Havana

In order to merge the work of Cuban and non-Cuban musicians, from June 23 to 25 the 11th will be held in the capital of Cuba. edition of the Festival “A bridge to Havana“.

Jorge Luis Robaina, director of the Karamba group and coordinator of the event, announced that the celebration of the festival will generate a set of opportunities, both for the national and foreign music market.

Un Puente… has as its main objective to exalt the visibility of Cuban alternative music, according to Robaina.

“We will always be inclined to work on alternative music, mestizo music, Cuban music; but this time we wanted to open and strengthen that niche of artists who today are betting on and strengthening the internal market for Cuban music”, commented the artist.

He also stressed that the concept is itinerant because it seeks the participation of different types of audiences. This 2023 edition will have Havana as the only venue.

The festival is sponsored by the EGREM record company, the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institute of Music. Likewise, it has received the support of other entities such as the Palmares tourist group.

Groups such as Maykel Blanco and his Salsa Mayor, Karamba, Buena Fe, Issac Delgado and his orchestra and Toques del Río will participate in the event. Also figures such as Haila María Mompié, Jotabarrioz, Alex Duvall, Raúl Paz and Waldo Mendoza, as well as exponents from Spain and the United States.
