The NGO A Better Way celebrated this Saturday, May 21, its fourth anniversary working in the most vulnerable communities in the country.
In an act, held in Maturín, Monagas state, the organization brought together more than 100 guests. They recognized the doctors, community leaders, allies and human rights activists who during these four years have worked hand in hand with the national team of volunteers.
“In the last four years we have provided assistance to more than 20,000 patients from different communities. Also, around 40,000 people have benefited during the team’s conferences and activities in the states of Anzoátegui, Aragua, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Caracas, Mérida, Miranda, Monagas, Táchira and Vargas,” said Renluis Núñez, president and founder of the nonprofit organization.
Beneficiaries of a Better Life
Currently, the NGO has the 0500-MAMÁ, Mobile Clinics and League for the Defense of Food Security programs available to the country’s disadvantaged populations, among others.
“One of the main objectives of A Better Way is to promote access to health, quality of life, sustainable development and the defense of human rights in vulnerable communities in Venezuela,” stressed Núñez.
He also pointed out that the NGO hopes to expand to reach more disadvantaged people in the interior of the country. “We hope to reach 500 volunteers nationwide, reach patient number 30,000, and consolidate the Delta Amacuro, Carabobo, Sucre, and Guárico teams to continue benefiting more low-income citizens,” he emphasized.
