A 28-year-old Cuban migrant has been missing in Mexico for almost three weeks

AREQUIPA, Peru – A 28-year-old Cuban woman, identified as Lorena Rosabal Guevara, has been missing in Mexico for more than 20 days, according to her relatives informed independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.

“He is traveling to the United States, but his relatives do not know his whereabouts since 9:00 am on December 21, 2024,” the reporter wrote on his wall. Facebook.

The last known location of the young woman from Santiago de Cuba was the state of Chiapas, where she passed through the town of San José el Hueyate, Mazatán municipality.

“She was bound for Mexico City, accompanied by another local from Santiago de Cuba known as Jorgito, whose whereabouts are also unknown,” says Mayeta Labrada.

The publication also shares photos of Rosabal Guevara and encourages anyone with relevant information to leave it in the comments.

In the midst of the largest migratory exodus in the history of the Island, thousands of Cubans arrive in Mexican territory and expose themselves to multiple dangers. In Mexican territory, many Cubans have been victims of kidnappings, extortions and murders.

At the end of last year, an operation coordinated by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) rescued 174 migrants in Mexico, including nine Cubans, who were kidnapped in the municipality of Juchitán de Zaragoza.

A report from the organization on Facebook points out that the rescue was carried out together with federal and state forces on November 20, 2024. Then migrants from 12 countries were rescued, including Venezuela, Honduras, Colombia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.

Of the total number of migrants found, the publication indicates, 41 were minors and several were traveling unaccompanied.
