Santo Domingo. – A 27-year-old young man is among those five dead due to traffic accidents reported by the Emergency Operations Center (COE), in the first newsletter of the second phase of the Consciousness for Life operation that is carried out for the festivities of New Year’s Eve.
It is about Geurry Del Hommewho according to the authorities lost his life after crashing on a motorcycle on Olímpica Avenue in the Villa Olímpica sector of the municipality of Mao, in the Valverde province.

The entity identified the other deceased as Carmen Ramona Ramirez Ramirez, 48 years old; Miguel Angel Cruz Cruz, 49; Manuel Enrique Reyes Lluberes, 75, and María Olguina Santana Sala, 70, who died aboard light vehicles in an accident on the Sánchez highway, Baní-Azua section, near the Ocoa intersection.
The Emergency Operations Center also highlighted that from 2:00 in the afternoon of December 30 to 6:00 in the morning of this Tuesday, New Year’s Eve, they have offered 5 thousand 383 road assistance to the public and 386 medical assistance.
Likewise, he pointed out that there were registered 28 traffic accidents during the operation that takes place on highways, roads, streets and avenues, of which, 20 involved motorcyclestwo light vehicles, and the same number of collisions, a buggy, two SUVs, and a vehicle not yet specified.
Likewise, he reported that they have attended 39 people intoxicated by alcoholwithout minors affected by this cause having been reported so far, as well as 14 individuals poisoned by food.
The COE highlighted that the provinces that have registered the most cases are Santo Domingo, the National District, Peravia, La Romana and San Cristóbal.
