A 14% advance leads to the construction of the new Children’s Hospital

The Ministry of Health announced that, to date, the new Children’s Hospital, José Renán Esquivel, has a physical progress of 14% and the work schedule is maintained, which stipulates that the construction stage must conclude in December 2024.

This project is carried out in several stages, first the construction phase and then the maintenance phase will begin, which lasts approximately three years, explained the national director of Infrastructure Carlos Candanedo.

“Due to activities that are reflected, as has been evidenced in the field, all the slabs from level 0.0 to level -100 and -200 have made significant progress,” he said.

Additionally, he reported that the hospital will have 20 floors, with a capacity of 476 beds and will have specialties such as: radiology, hematology, outpatient area, operating room, emergency area, blood bank and laboratory.

The current amount of the work, which is being carried out by the company Acciona Construcción SA, is 443.8 million dollars and will benefit more than one million children throughout the country.
