Yenifer Paredessister-in-law of President Pedro Castillo, was summoned for today in the Public ministry for the case of the alleged crime of influence peddling, for having coordinated works in the Cajamarca region. However, he did not attend the interrogation.
His summons was scheduled for 9:30 this Monday in the 6th Office of the 1st Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Lima Officials.
Last Friday, his sister, the first lady Lilia Paredes, appeared before the Public Ministry for this case revealed by Fourth Power. In all, she answered more than 30 questions, according to her attorney, Benji Espinoza.

After testifying before prosecutor Jony Peña, from the sixth office of the First Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, President Castillo’s wife left the scene amidst a strong police guard and without answering questions from the press.
The first lady was summoned by the prosecution after an investigation was opened against her sister Yenifer Paredes Navarro, who was caught offering a sanitation work in the district of La Succha, in Cajamarca, together with Hugo Espino Lucana, manager of the company. In the interrogation, the first lady was asked about the meeting she had with Hugo Espino Lucana on August 8, 2021. The meeting with the manager of JJM Espino Engineering & Construction SAC lasted about five hours. Espino then returned to the Government Palace to meet directly with Yenifer Paredes, President Pedro Castillo’s sister-in-law.
These events happened on August 31 and September 3 of last year. The first meeting lasted three hours and the second one hour.
